Having being commissioned by the Japanese Embassy in Sudan, UNICONS prepared the study that considered the Economical relationship between Sudan and Foreign Countries, in general, and its major trading partners, in particular. More specifically, the study provided an analysis of the following topics:

  • Formal Trade in Sudan (direct and indirect, Contribution to economic growth, trends in imports and exports-2009-2011 and 2012-2014) – (7 -12 pages)

  • Sudan’s Major Trade partners (China, India, Korea, Brazil, EU, COMESA and the Gulf Countries ..etc) -2009-2011 and 2012-2014.

  • A comparative trade analysis including Japan – Sudan trade relationship

  • International economic assistance to Sudan 

  • Legal Aspect of Sudanese Trade

The study concluded with recommendations and prospects particularly, Sudan’s recent improvement with Gulf Countries and its ongoing and future investment.

In undertaking the assignment, UNICONS carefully designed the Terms of Reference in consultation with the client. It then chose from its vast database of consultants Dr. Mirghani Ibnoaf who has extensive and long standing expertise in covering trade and economic cooperation aspects. Preparation of the study required diligent work and data collection from the related ministries in Sudan. The draft study was reviewed by Unicons management for comprehensiveness and quality control.
